All jobs come with a certificate of compliance upon completion for home insurance purposes.
A deposit is required to book in any job, and this will cover material costs. Usually, this deposit may be 75% or greater. A higher deposit may be required in certain circumstances if material costs are high. Deposits are nonrefundable as they are used to purchase the materials for your project.
The balance of all jobs is due by 3pm on the day of completion, no exceptions. If a customer is paying their balance via bank transfer, proof of transfer must be presented to the office by 3pm. Fitters have full permission to remove stove parts and take with them should balance not be collected before they leave site on their final day of the project. Refitting of these parts will be an additional call out charge.
Materials installed on projects remain the property of Stove and Fireplace Fitters Ltd until full payment has been received, therefore stoves cannot be lit by the customer until balances are collected. Certificate of compliance will not be issued until balances are collected and signed project paperwork has been returned to the office.
LATE PAYMENTS will be subject to an administration fee and any legal fees incurred during payment recovery will be for the customer’s account.
CHEQUES ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
Customers are required to be on site on the day of the project commencement to oversee all works. If a customer cannot be present on their fitting date, the date will be moved to a date where the customer can be present for the full date.
Customers are required to have their chimney cleaned by a competent person before the fitters arrive on site for the project, this will clean any dirt or blockages and clear the way for the lining kit. Stove and Fireplace Fitters Ltd will not be liable for any damage incurred from incorrect chimney sweep and any blockages causing delay in installation project may be subject to additional charge.
Rubble/old fireplace/stove removal is never included in our quotes. It is advisable for the customer to have a skip or skip bag present on the day(s) of their project for any rubble or old materials. Removal of such may be added onto our quotes for a fee.
Customers are required to remove all ornaments/breakables from the vicinity of the installation. As with any building project, while the fitters will do their best to minimize it, there will be dust settlement, so any rugs/ curtains of personal value are to be removed from the room.
Customers are required to cover any furniture remaining in the room for the duration of the project.
Should customers have any aesthetic/usage problems with their new project, this must be reported via email no less than 24 hours after the project has been installed to avoid incurring a call out charge.
In paying a deposit on any project, you are accepting the above terms and conditions of service.
